DIY Sew-in Veil Weights

After having a bride ask about veil weights, I searched Google, and only found magnetic veil weights. They come in different shapes like pearls, or flowers, but they are all magnetic.

I purchased some from Amazon, and they attach to the veil easily, but they are magnetic. I don’t like how they are magnetic because they have potential of attaching to anything else magnetic, and getting lossed. They could also stick to each other. Or if one knocks into just right, they could knock one off.

With all that in mind, I came to my solution, and that is these DIY sew-in veil weights I’m going to show you.

Luckily, her veil is covered in lace, especially at the hem where it matters for this, so I am able to hide my veil weights with lace.

(A different solution would have to come up for veils without lace.)

I first created little bags for my weights (2 nickels each) to go in.

Then I sandwiched them in between two pieces of lace on the backside of the veil in 5 spots on the hem of the veil.
